We are pleased to announce a forthcoming Special Issue on Local Actors for Local Action (LALA). This is a theme of growing global importance as health and care systems, particularly in rural and peripheral areas, face mounting challenges in delivering equitable, high‑quality, and accessible services.

Across diverse settings, communities are calling for decentralised, fit‑for‑place innovations that move beyond “one size fits all” models. This special issue explores how local actors, including community members, health and social care workers, civic groups, and other place‑based stakeholders, actively shape and lead local action to drive meaningful, sustainable innovation in health and care systems.

Special Issue on Indigenous communities, Health and Wellbeing

We are pleased to announce a forthcoming special issue from the Journal of Community Systems for Health, dedicated to exploring Indigenous communities as systems, sources, and enablers of health, mental health, and wellbeing. We welcome and encourage strength-based research, undertaken by Indigenous communities and/or in close partnership with Indigenous communities, from a wide array of disciplinary perspectives and methodologies.
